In Hou and Sælvig there is free parking. The parking lot has video surveillance, but remember that parking is at your own risk.
Pets are welcome onboard, placed in a suitable transport box and dogs must be kept on a leash.

2. PAYMENT
All tickets must be paid for when ordering by credit card or MobilePay. The following payment cards are accepted: Dankort, Visa, VisaElectron and MasterCard.

4. REFUND / CANCELLATION
4.1 STANDARD TICKET
Standard tickets can be refunded free of charge online no later than 10 minutes before departure on Samsø Rederi’s booking page. Click here. Tickets can also be refunded by contacting us in person or by telephone for a fee of DKK 30 per ticket.
4.2 DISCOUNT TICKET
The right of cancellation drops on discount tickets when the purchase is made, i.e. Discount tickets cannot be refunded after purchase.
4.3 CANCELLATION/NO APPEARANCE FOR CONTRACT CUSTOMERS
Cancellation of bookings made on agreements can be cancelled on Samsø Rederi’s booking page. Click here
Please note that payment of the ticket is completed if the ticket is not cancelled no later than 10 minutes before the booked departure.
5. TICKET INSPECTION
If a valid travel document cannot be presented at the ticket check, a check fee of DKK 800 + a standard ticket will be issued.
6. DEFINITION OF A PASSENGER CAR
Permitted total weight up to 3,500 kg. Cars that are registered for “residential use” are considered motorhomes.
7. CHECK IN TIME
The meeting time is no later than 10 minutes before scheduled departure.
The seat reservation is cancelled if the meeting time is not fulfilled.
8. COMMUTER CARD
The commuter card is personal and must be presented together with the ticket when boarding.
9. SENIOR TICKETS
As a pedestrian, you can travel on a senior ticket. The senior ticket requires the traveller to be at least 65 years old or an early pensioner. Upon boarding, it must be possible to document that the traveller is entitled to a senior ticket, and photographic identification must be showed if requested.

If you book a trip where the travel time passes midnight, please be aware of the date change.

Onboard MF PRINSESSE ISABELLA we can take special care to passengers in wheelchairs or with walking difficulties. We do that by placing your vehicle, with an easy access to the passengerdeck.
Do you wish to place your car with best possible access to the passengerdeck, contact customer service on tlf. nr. +45 7022 5900. Remember to state your booking nr. and book in advance, as we only have limited capacity on every departure.
When you arrive at the gates at the harbor, and have booked for the handicap placement, our automats will guide you to the lane for handicap vehicles. In Sælvig it is lane 17 and in Hou it is lane A.

We often get the question, “Is there enough parkingspaces?” Our answer is, yes there usually is, but we can not make any garanties.
Your pets are welcome onboard.
During the crossing, pets must be placed in transportation boxes and dogs on a leash.
In the passenger deck you will find a dog area, look for the signs.
Be aware, that there might not be enough seats for your entire family, but just for the dog and one owner.
It is allowed to leave your dog in the car, during the crossing.
The ferry is open at both ends, so please leave the windows open, so your dog will get fresh air into the car. It is also possible to attend your dog during the crossing.

From Aarhus to Hou you can take bus no. 103.
The bus goes via Beder, Malling and Odder and stops a few meters from the ferry. The drive takes approx. 1 hour.

About Samsø
The island and the surrounding sea invite to a wonderful mix of deep relaxation in tranquil surroundings and super holiday activities.
The beaches vary from wide child-friendly beaches with shallow water, over to the slightly deeper, and in some places more rocky beaches. Here, on the other hand, there are often good fishing opportunities. Everywhere the water is clear and with the long coastline of 120 km it means that the beaches are never crowded.

114 km2, 28 km long, 500 meters at the narrowest point and 7 km at the widest point. It is a manageable size for you who want to experience all of the island in the middle of Denmark.

How do you get around and see the island?
There are many opportunities to get around once you have arrived by ferry to Samsø.
Bring your bike on board or rent a bike at the harbour when you arrive or book it in advance.
You can also rent cars or take the telebus. During the summer holidays you can even take a free summer bus that runs around most of the island. Take a ferry to Samsø

Samsø is ideal to see from the bicycle saddle. There are good cycle paths all the way from the capital Tranebjerg to Nordby. With as many as 22 villages around the island, it is never far to the next village and in many of them it is possible to get a refreshment.
Most of the island is relatively flat, so the altitude meters will not knock you out. The only place the altitude is really challenged is up to the island’s highest point Ballebjerg. But the “mountain” is worth the trip, with great views and wonderful walks in the area.

Keep in touch
Lost items will be delivered to the office in Sælvig.
Lost items of special value, like personal dokuments, wallets, keys, cash, jewelry, phones and other, will be kept for up to 7 days, and will hereafter be handed over to the police.
Other items kept by Samsø Rederi, will after 14 days be destroyed or handed over to charity.
Forgotten medicin will be handed over to the police or for destruction at a pharmacy as soon as possible.
